Greetings from the General Chair

Welcome to the 2008 IEEE International Conference on Circuits and Systems for Communications (IEEE ICCSC 2008), jointly sponsored by IEEE Circuits and Systems Society and the IEEE Communications Society. This conference has evolved from three previous conferences of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society‚s premier workshop series on Emerging Technologies.  These conferences have been co-organized by the Liu-Weinstein team and have featured eminent keynote speakers including Robert Lucky, Gerry Foschini, Yrjo Neuvo, Thomas Kailath, and Xiao-Hu You, as well as many outstanding plenary speakers.  This year we are delighted to have keynote speakers at ICCSC Professor Lang Tong, Irwin and Joan Jacobs Professor in Engineering, Cornell University, USA and Dr. Botaro Hirosaki, Senior Executive Vice President, NEC Corporation, Japan, as well as many plenary speakers and a special half-day workshop, sponsored by Huawei, on Key Technologies for Future Wireless Communications.  

All conference papers will be included in the Conference Proceedings, IEEE Xplore and Engineering Index.  In addition, each paper will be assigned a DOI  when it is uploaded to Xplore.  A DOI is a digital object identifier, and is the new standard used by librarians and indexers for citation purposes.   ICCSC 2008 will be held in the Radisson Hotel Shanghai New World luxury hotel centrally located in Shanghai.  The People‚s Square and the Nanjing-Road Walking Plaza are within 5-minutes walking distance.  Many tourist spots such as the Bund, Huaihai Road shopping area, Shanghai Museum, Yu Garden and Xintiandi are only a 2 dollar taxi ride away.
